Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Matins website, apps, and messaging bots. By creating an account or capturing a dream you accept them.
1. The service
Matins is a dream reflection companion. You capture a dream, and after a deliberate delay we return a literary reflection grounded in published dream psychology. Reflections are interpretive writing, not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.
2. Eligibility
You must be 16 or older to use Matins. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.
3. Your account
Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@matins.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Free, Journal, Pro Monthly, Pro Annual, and Lifetime tiers are described on /pricing.
- Recurring subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice; the new price applies on your next renewal.
5. Your content, your rights
Your dreams, your captures, and your reflections are yours. You grant us only the licence we need to operate the service: to store, process, transcribe, generate reflections from, and display this content to you. We do not claim ownership and we do not use your content to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful to others.
- Attempt to scrape, mirror, or reverse engineer the service.
- Use automated means to create accounts or flood our endpoints.
- Resell or sublicense access to Matins without written permission.
- Bypass authentication, rate limits, or security controls.
7. Not a medical service
Matins is not a doctor, therapist, or crisis service. Nothing in a reflection is diagnosis or treatment. If you are in crisis contact emergency services or a helpline. Resources are listed in our footer on every page.
8. Intellectual property
The Matins name, wordmark, software, prompts, framework taxonomy, and editorial materials are owned by Matins. You may not copy, republish, or create derivative works from them without permission.
9. Service availability
We aim for high availability but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, change features, or discontinue parts of the service. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will offer a pro-rata refund.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time from in-app settings or by emailing support@matins.ai. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence where UK or EU consumer law requires.
